Preserving Heritage and Embracing Diversity: Exploring the Past, Present and Future of Franco-Albertan Cultural Institutions
This project aims to document and characterize the institutionalization process of Franco-Albertan history and heritage (and the discourse surrounding them) since the 1970s. Another objective of this research is to assess the place cultural institutions, such as libraries, assign to the stories of French-speaking newcomers (particularly those from Africa). The project is based on a series of interviews with key figures in the preservation of Francophone heritage, which will be made publicly available.
Translation policies in Canadian cities
To facilitate the inclusion of immigrants who are not proficient in either of the official languages, several major urban centers, such as Toronto and Vancouver, provide multilingual translations of public-facing resources. The objective of this research is to document, compare, and analyze these municipal translation practices and policies, drawing primarily on fieldwork. One component of the project is the creation of a website compiling useful resources for cities wishing to develop a framework for their translation activities

Francopass
Francopass is a web application that uses gamification strategies (e.g., badges, points, and quizzes) to encourage participation in French-language events within the local community. Francopass relies on a network of francophone community partners who promote their activities through the application. Francopass has been used by French learners in the department of Modern Languages and Cultural Studies since 2023.

French-speaking female journalists and the printing press in Western Canada: A historical perspective
This research examines the lives and work of Francophone women journalists in Alberta at the turn of the 20th century. These pioneers of female journalism played a central role both in the cultural and social struggle to preserve the French identity in Alberta and in the emergence of French-language literature. One component of the project is the creation of an open-access website featuring the columns of these journalists as well as resources about them.

Contemporary issues in Franco-Albertan theatre
This research initially focused on the tension between community theater and professional theater in the Franco-Albertan theater scene. It was subsequently expanded to examine how this scene is evolving in a context characterized by diversity and the call for truth and reconciliation.

Michel Tremblay, traducteur et adaptateur
Michel Tremblay is a well-known author of novels and plays. However, it is lesser known that he is also a prolific translator and adapter. This study examines the substantial body of translations and adaptations by Michel Tremblay, their complex relationship with his original work, and Tremblay's unique translation style.

Canadian minority media
This project led to the creation of the Canadian Minority Media Database, which indexes past and present minority and Indigenous media outlets operating in Canada. It is the first open-access collaborative database of its kind, with more than 1,000 entries.

Translation, philosophy and non-philosophy
This project stems from my doctoral research. It is an experimental attempt to apply François Laruelle’s non-philosophy as a framework for radically rethinking the relationship between translation and philosophy, and to propose a non-philosophical discipline of translation or "trans-fiction" ("tradu-fiction").

The erotics of translation
This project seeks to conceptualize translation as an “erotics of translation” ("érotique de la traduction") and to draw the practical and theoretical implications of such a perspective. One aspect of this project involves analyzing the translation of erotic novels (e.g., La vie sexuelle de Catherine M.).

This research examines a variety of literary works, translations, and films from a postcolonial perspective. More specifically, it highlights the complexity of processes such as exile, translation, and writing within a context of power asymmetry and linguistic/ cultural hybridity.
